I really like AAU, I'm going online since I live in Texas and have a 50 hr a week job. It's going to take forever to get my BFA at the rate I'm going. Are you online or on campus? What's your major? Mine is Fine Art(drawing and painting).

I'm doing AAU's online MFA program in illustration. I got my BFA in illustration from the Ringling School of art and Design in Sarasota, FL. Yesterday was my the first day and I'm taking Renaissance Art History and Drawing from Imagination. My first assignment in Drawing from imagination is one point perspective and I feel everyone should already know this if they are getting their masters degree, but I guess the professor just wanted to be sure we understand it.

Man, I wish I could find a 50hr a week job, lol. The economy has gotten horrible over here. I went from teaching art in public schools and then when my second teaching position was cut I worked marketing & advertising making good money and now I'm stocking shelves for 9 bucks an hour part time. Lol, my wife and I are going to be so broke and in debt when school is done.

I've heard Ringling is a great school. I've worked in the car business all my life. Did paint and body work in my 20's, started working in parts in my 30's, now I manage the parts dept at a small Lincoln Mercury dealership. This is my first time in college and I just turned 46 last week.

Good luck with the job thing, I know things are tough. I hate that art and music are usually the first things that get cut in schools when things get tight.

Congrats on getting the promotion to manager of your department. I used to be the assistant manager of a retail store back in college and knew that if I had stayed with the company I could have been a manager by this point. I'm not sorry I left the company, even though I'd be much more financially stable at the moment, working in the art field is just something I think I need in my life (but I'd take a good regular job right now and just do freelance on the side, lol)

Also, congrats on going back to school and happy belated birthday!
